Yoga for Teenagers
I have trained and work in association with Teen Yoga UK. My aim is to make yoga accessible, manageable and fun for teenagers of all ages. I am passionate about providing this service and happy to work with schools, colleges, youth centres or any other groups who are interested in practicing yoga.
Yoga has many definitions but can be considered as the containment of mind and heart. Through the practice of asana (body postures) and breath a great sense of peace and wellbeing can be achieved.
Yoga can increase outward flexibility and create inward stability. If you have never practiced yoga before and don’t think you are flexible enough then think again! My approach is to help you start where you are at and move forwards in progressive and careful steps. It is always surprising the progress one can make with regular practice.
Who is yoga suitable for?
As long as individual needs and ability are taken into account yoga can be practiced by anyone. I specialise in yoga for teenagers and sessions are carefully created to suit the physical, emotional and mental needs of this age bracket. My style has a nurturing approach with emphasis placed on personally engaging with the postures and learning how yoga can positively affect the body and mind. So whoever you are, yoga can provide a practice of positive and healthy change.

Where and how to practice?
Sessions are practiced in groups and provide a safe and nurturing environment for the individual. Yoga can be practiced any time of day although it is particularly good to practice in the morning or evening. It is better to practice on an empty stomach so leave some time between meals.
Although not completely essential you will need a yoga mat and block. I do provide spares in all my sessions but you can obtain your own through companies such as Yoga Matters.
