We have created Nāda Sound Therapy to offer you the chance to experience the healthy qualities of sound, meditation and yoga in a simple yet effective way.
I am a fully qualified and insured sound therapist and have trained with the British Academy of Sound Therapy. I always aim to develop my sound work skills and continue my research to be able to bring people sound in a variety of therapeutic forms. I have also trained with Sadhana Mala (500 hours), Teen Yoga and Connected Kids to bring yoga and meditation to all ages and abilities.
Working with sound, meditation and yoga is my passion. I hope to bring my experience and knowledge to you and aim to continue bringing these techniques into common therapeutic practice. Sound, meditation and yoga 'works' and I would like to provide you the opportunity to experience how.
I have been inspired by music from around the world for many years and have become an avid collector of instruments. To name a few, I have experience with singing bowls, gong, tuning forks, didgeridoo, frame drum, djembe drum, darbuka, tabla and cajon. I enjoy listening and playing music of all kinds.
I have also studied a degree in Photography at Southampton Solent and also completed my PGCE with Portsmouth University. I have worked as an art teacher for many years and really enjoy the teaching-learning process with people of all ages.
My interest in yoga began around 15 years ago and I know that from personal practice it provides an accessible method for achieving a healthy body and comfortable state of mind. Over the years my style of yoga has developed and been very much influenced by my professional practice and interest in holistic therapy. My training has been varied within the field of holistic therapy and includes various approaches to massage, healing and meditation. However some of my most notable achievements have been my yoga teacher training with Sadhana Mala (500 hours) and Thai yoga massage training with Cheltenham Yoga.
I have been fascinated by human anatomy and physiology for many years and have a strong interest in both mainstream and alternative therapies. I believe that my years as an experienced practicing holistic therapist brings something to my approach of yoga that many other yoga teachers do not. Although people may come to my classes to simply exercise their bodies, there is so much more depth to yoga practice that can be life changing in many ways. There is equal achievement in an experienced student mastering a challenging posture as there is in a new student reaching their toes for the first time.
I aim to create classes that both inspire and meet people where they are at and nurture them towards their goals whether that is to create greater physical wellbeing or to help calm the mind. I have experience teaching both teenagers and adults with a firm belief in yoga for everyone.
